October 2017 Meeting

Did You Miss It?

Location:  Western Sizzlin’ , 1916 Congo Road in Benton, Arkansas
Our Guest Speaker was:  James D. Ferguson, N5LKE, Arkansas Section Manager,
Delta Division of the ARRL

At the October 2nd meeting, we were be fortunate to have our newly elected ARRL Arkansas Section Manager, J Ferguson, N5LKE, as our guest speaker.  He talked to us about the importance of being involved in the ARRL and how the ARRL needs the full support of every member of every amateur radio club in Arkansas.

Following J Ferguson, we also heard from Shane Lee, WX0X, about the status of Arkansas Skywarn.  Shane is president of the Cabot STARS club and the new ARRL Arkansas Section Emergency Coordinator.  More information will be forthcoming on changes to Arkansas Skywarn.

We also received an update on our DMR project from Michael Clay, AC5XV, our project manager for this new repeater installation.  The location has finally been chosen and that will be the Congo Road Water Tower in Benton.  The is excellent high point location that will cover all of south Little Rock, Alexander, Bryant, Bauxite, Benton–that is to say, most of Saline County and the surrounding area.  Time will tell us more about the actual coverage area.

Also, it is never too late to contribute to the DMR repeater fund.  We began on April 3rd with a goal of $2500.00 and many of you pledged to contribute.  If you have not fulfilled your pledge, please do so as soon as possible by check or use the PayPal button at the top of this web page.  In the PayPal note or remark section, please indicate that your donation is FOR DMR REPEATER, as we also receive regular membership dues through PayPal.

Pay Your 2018 Dues

Donate Now Button
We are still accepting 2018 dues–really, it is never too late.  We are thankful for your dues or miscellaneous contributions at anytime throughout the year.  Just remember that we do not prorate dues;  this means that we do not accept partial payment for part of a calendar year.  Your dues are necessary for the minimal expenses of this amateur radio club. All memberships run from January 1 to December 31, no partial year dues.

$20 for individual membership; $30 for all licensed hams in your household.

Also, if you have not made a donation to the recent purchase of our new DMR repeater, 443.600, please do so as this was a major expenditure for the CAUHF Group.  It is now fully operational and linked is part of the worldwide Brandmeister Network.

If you prefer to send a check or M.O., please mail it to the address at the bottom of this web page.
