October 2015 Meeting

ALL ABOUT OUR OCTOBER 5th, 2015 MEETINGmeeting_100515_A

We hope you did not miss our fourth quarterly meeting of 2015, which was held on Monday night, October 5th at Delicious Temptations in Little Rock.  We were honored to have David Norris, K5UZ, as our guest speaker.  David is our Delta Division Director of the ARRL.  David brought us up to date on everything currently happening in the ARRL–both in Arkansas and at the national level.  He delivered a great presentation.

Before the program began, we held our Election of New Officers for 2016.  Results are:  Randy Wright, AE5RW, was re-elected to serve another term as club president.  Steven Hicks, W5NLR, was elected as vice-present and Margie Wofford, KG5EPM was elected as our new Secretary-Treasurer.  Also, Sam Baldwin, N5SRB, was elected to our only vacant board position.  Other board members include Joel Echols, N5QLC (also our chief engineer) and Jim Golden, K5MID, remains as our immediate past president.  Tim Leet, K5TEL, is our repeater trustee and a permanent board member.

Tony at Delicious Temptations prepared a great dinner for us, grilled chicken or chicken spaghetti, with sautéed mixed vegetables, freshly baked bread and handmade salads.

We ended the evening with some great raffle prizes and–wouldn’t you know it–David, K5UZ won the Baofeng UV-82 dual band handheld radio!  What a lucky guy!  We had other nice prices in the form of Craftsman tools!  If you missed this meeting, well sorry but there are no more CAUHF Group meetings until January 4th, 2016.  Mark your calendars now!  The location and program will be announced soon;  check back here often!
