April Meeting – ADEM Tour

ADEMOur Monday, April 7th meeting will be held at the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management (ADEM), Building 9501 at Camp Robinson in North Little Rock. We will have pizza in the ADEM dining hall from 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. before beginning at 6:30 p.m. with a tour the ADEM facilities and the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) This is an event you DO NOT want to miss–especially if you have never seen the State of Arkansas EOC.  FEMA tells us that it is one of the best EOCs in the nation!

Our tour guide will be Brandon D. Morris, Deputy Public Information Officer for ADEM. More details about this event will be forthcoming but mark your calendars NOW, for Monday night, April 7th, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Camp Robinson in North Little Rock.

Also joining us will be J.M. Rowe, N5XFW, from Hot Springs.  He is the State’s ESF-2 (Communications) Liaison Officer. He is responsible to the state ESF-2 partners.  He is also a subject matter expert on amateur radio and acts as liaison to volunteer communications resources such as ARES, RACES, MARS and our many well prepared amateur radio clubs across the State.

At the end of the tour, we will be holding a raffle for a new Baofeng UV-5R+ dual band handheld radio and some nice Craftsman and Greenlee tools.
